How do I wire up my thermostat to run the fan only when I switch the button from auto to on?

I tried to wire the Green wire to G at the thermostat and at the furnace but the fan will not turn on using the switch that is in the thermostat. I do not have a cooling system so I want to wire it up just to run the fan when I need it. The furnace is a new Amana the terminals on the control board inside are labeled TWIN Y W R C G. I would also like to know what each of these terminals are for. Thank you.How do I wire up my thermostat to run the fan only when I switch the button from auto to on?I will explain the colors and the letters. Twin, That is for %26quot;twinning%26quot; two furnaces together. so they will be controlled as one. Y, That is for first stage cooling. W. is first stage heat. R is the 24 volt terminal that send power to all controls. C. is the common terminal. G, is the fan terminal. To wire the fan to the fan switch you will need to make sure the green wire goes to the %26quot;G%26quot; terminal and %26quot;R%26quot; goes to the red terminal. The %26quot;W%26quot; is the white wire. I hope this helps. If you connect them like that then it should work with the fan switch. Good luckHow do I wire up my thermostat to run the fan only when I switch the button from auto to on?IT is called minnapolis honey well system... Y =a/c , w= heat , R=power ,C = common G=fanHow do I wire up my thermostat to run the fan only when I switch the button from auto to on?Turn temp all the way down, leave on heat, fan on. The fan will run without the burner. Changing wiring could burn out low voltage transformer. The terminals are color coded to match t-stat wires. To do what you want you would need to alter the t-stat. Look here for what terminals do http://highperformancehvac.com/thermosta You can also turn temp up,, and select cool, fan on, for different fan speed as long as t-stat is wired for cool
