How do you replace a thermostat on a 2003 Dodge Stratus?

I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus and the heat works intermittently at high speeds. I need to replace the thermostat but cannot figure out how. I know where it is but I am not used to working on newer cars. How do you replace a thermostat on a 2003 Dodge Stratus?it depends on what engine you have. if it is a 2.4 follow the top hose to the engine to find the thermostat housing. if it is a 2.7 it is on the lower hose behind the alternator. if you only have heat at higher engine speeds, there is air in the cooling system, not a thermostat problem. there is an airbleed screw on the engine. How do you replace a thermostat on a 2003 Dodge Stratus?if ts a 2.4 engine those are fairly easy to do you just follow the hose down to the housing on the 2.7 engine it harder to do its behind the alternator and its harder to get too,if you,ll drain some of the coolant out of it before you start to do this it will stop you from loosing all of it,there's also a bleed screw on it that will help bleed the air out of it ,that sounds like what might be wrong with yours it may have air in it,if it was the thermostat bad you probably wouldn't get no heat from it at all, good luck with it,an merry x-mas.
