Can anyone easily explain how to change a thermostat?You need to buy the thermostat and gasket.Follow the top radiator hose down to the engine, the hose will goto the thermostat cover. There should be 2 bolts holding it on. Take out the 2 bolts and pry off the cover which will be attached to the hose. Pull out the old thermostat, replace with new. Put new gasket on then cover back over the thermostat and bolt it down. Thats it.Can anyone easily explain how to change a thermostat?Though most procedures listed here are correct the first step is to drain about 1 gallon of coolant from the radiator at the drain plug in the bottom of the radiator, this should be done while the engine is cool. If the fluid is not drained you will have it drain through the thermostat opening when you remove the cover. You need to remove that part, it is inside of that.
Be sure you don't put it in upside down,it will go in wrong.
Be sure to clean all the old gasket off before replacing new gasket.....
