How do you go about installing a new thermostat in a car?

I have a 2003 chevy blazer and i need to install a new thermostat in my car. I was wondering what is the process on how to do this?How do you go about installing a new thermostat in a car?follow the upper radiator to your engine.

This type of a material requires exact mating of the surfaces..or it might crack a bolt(hold down)..

The top radiator hose leads to the Thermostat Housing..

Because the Thermostat is at the TOP-of-the-Motor..you can just place a Catch-Pan under the motor..some anti-freeze will get lost..be prepared to TIE-the radiator hose upwards..and out of the way..

Remove the radiator hose from the thermostat housing..this assures a complete alignment--once you've placed the thermostat in its seating..and apply a gasket and gasket sealer..

A good thermostat will have a Bleeder Hole..I have had to install a thermostat without a Bleeder Hole..and removed it..drilling in a very tiny bleeder hole..like 1/16 of an inch..//radiator STOP LEAK--may cause a block at the Bleeder Hole..

So..just pull the old thermostat

Replace its gasket and use a Gasket Sealer(shellac)..or Permatex{tm}Brand gasket sealer..I like the HARD-setting..//

Be sure of an exact fit(matched surfaces)..or you'll snap a bolt hold down..
