How much should it cost to replace thermostat in 1992 Buick Riviera?

I thought replacing a thermostat was an inexpensive job. I have been quoted $95 - also they are telling me I need a flush for another $80. My water pump is leaking coolant - I can understand the water pump cost at $278.....but is the thermostat and flush also necessary? That is over $500 - ouch! How much should it cost to replace thermostat in 1992 Buick Riviera?Call Advance Auto Parts for a quote on the part and put it on yourself. Yes, you should change your thermostat, and flush your system, and then re-fill with new anti-freeze.How much should it cost to replace thermostat in 1992 Buick Riviera?Replace the water pump. Replace the thermostat and of course add new coolant. I would be tempted to not flush the system but after the work they are preforming it is probably a good idea so that no debris is left in system. Pricing is about correct these days, now you know why I do so much of my own repairs.
