My car needs a new water pump and thermostat for a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 2wd, inline V6. Was wondering if anyone knows what the going cost of replacing them would be so I don't get ripped off. Do not buy the inexpensive pump at the local auto parts store. You can pick up a pump for 30 bucks but they crap out in about 3,000 miles, ask how I know. They have a lifetime warranty so they will give you a new one for free but who wants to put a water pump on every 3,000 miles? Look into a tefba radiator filter, very easy to install and it will protect your radiator from the little pieces of gasket and RTV or any thing else that is in your cooling system. Switch to DISTILLED water mixed with coolant. Just remember that you always have to top it off with distilled water, not tap or hose water.
